Train the Evaluator

As a result of travel restrictions and to honor the new social distancing guidelines resulting from COVID-19, MEA will be offering the Train-the-Evaluator Workshop as an all-day live online training event using the GoToMeeting™ video conferencing tool. This class is limited to 10 participants.
Hardware/Software Requirements
To match the experience of the classroom session as close as possible, MEA requires the following to attend this online workshop:
- Access the Internet and GoToMeeting (requires download)
- Computer or tablet equipped with camera
- Microphone or telephone dial-in
NOTE: MEA must verify equipment setup and connection before your registration will be approved. If you are unable to meet these requirements, your registration fee will be refunded.
Pre-Class Preparations
- Return the completed Evaluator Application packet to MEA.
- Obtain an EnergyU LMS login (contact your company’s EnergyU Administrator).
Class Preparations
- Registrants will receive an electronic (PDF) copy of the TTE Workbook. MEA recommends that you print this workbook for reference and notetaking during class.
- Inform co-workers or members of your household that you will be on a live training event and that the area behind you will be visible to others.
- Please take appropriate steps to ensure no outside noise that may be distracting to other attendees.
The training session covers:
- An overview of the OQ Rule, including 49 CFR 192, 195, API 1161 and ASME B31Q
- A discussion of current OQ hot topics
- A review of the characteristics and skills needed to be an effective evaluator
- A review of the evaluation process
- Tips for evaluator response to evaluatee questions
- Tips for handling problem situations
- Exercises/Breakout sessions
The deadline to register for the July 14, 2020 Train-the-Evaluator class is Tuesday, July 7, 2020.
PLEASE NOTE:
To become an approved MEA evaluator, you must:
- Complete the Evaluator Application packet (includes photo ID and resume)
- Attend a Train-the-Evaluator Workshop
- Maintain an active EnergyU LMS login
- Pass the online test to obtain your evaluator ID
- Take the online training and test for each task you will evaluate on
To maintain your approved evaluator status, you must:
- Attend a Train-the-Evaluator Workshop OR complete the online test every three years

Cancellation policy:
There will be a $35 administration fee for cancellations made 5 days prior to the event. No refunds will be issued after this date. Substitutions may be made at any time.
Postponement policy:
MEA reserves the right to postpone any training class if a minimum number of attendees have not signed up 14 days prior to the class start date. MEA will notify anyone who has signed up and provide them with a 100% refund or a new training date.

Registration and attendance at, or participation in MEA and Energetic Women meetings, events, and other activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant to MEA's, Energetic Women's and paid speakers' use and distribution (both now and in the future) of the registrant or attendee’s image or voice in photographs, videos, electronic reproductions, and audio of such events and activities for promotional purposes.
