Electric Solutions Showcase Series: Cathodic Protection for Steel Utility Structures

MEA has launched a new online series specifically to support vendors and electric utility personnel looking to learn more about particular products, services, or offerings to help them do their jobs better.

In this webinar, we will:

  • Review the corrosion process on steel 
  • Review the cathodic protection process, including types of cathodic protection, anode types, assessment, testing, application, remote monitoring, and performance criteria 
  • Present a cathodic protection installation case study, including program development, engineered anode acquisition, logistics, implementation, data collection, and project summary analysis
     

Speaker | Kevin Niles, Product Manager, Osmose
Kevin Niles is a NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist with over 30 years of experience assessing, maintaining, and restoring both steel and wood utility structures. He is a Corrosion Engineer and a member of ASTM, ASCE, SSPC, and an active committee member with both NACE and IEEE. Kevin is currently Vice-Chair on a joint NACE/IEEE task group dedicated to developing standards specific to weathering (Corten) steel. He is the Osmose Product Manager for Steel Structure Assets.
